MizzleInk Commercial Use Licence
When you purchase a digital pattern or design file from MizzleInk, you’re buying a licence to use that design — not the design itself. The artwork remains the copyright of MizzleInk (Kairen Lilley) at all times.
What you CAN do with your purchase (Standard Licence):
- Use the design to create physical products for direct-to-consumer sale, including print-on-demand (POD) items
- Apply the design to fabric, textiles, wallpaper, wrapping paper, and similar surface products
- Use the design in stationery, paper goods, invitations, and journals
- Use the design in home décor products
- Use the design in handmade products you make and sell yourself
- Sell in unlimited quantities through your own shop, Etsy, markets, POD platforms, and similar direct-to-consumer channels
What you CANNOT do:
- Resell, share, redistribute, or give away the digital file itself, in whole or in part
- Claim the design as your own original artwork
- Sell or offer the digital file in its original digital format (i.e. you cannot resell the file itself as a “digital download” — only physical products made using it)
- Use the design to create a competing digital pattern or clipart product for resale
- Use the design in any way that is defamatory, obscene, or unlawful
- Use the design for wholesale production, or supply it to a retailer or stockist, without an Extended Licence (see below)
Extended / Wholesale Licence: The Standard Licence covers direct-to-consumer sales. If you’re planning to manufacture at wholesale scale, supply a design to a retailer or stockist, or license a design for use by a manufacturing partner, you’ll need an Extended Licence. Get in touch at [email] with details of the intended use, and we’ll agree a licence fee based on scale.
A note on scope: This licence covers a single purchaser’s commercial use. It is not an exclusive licence — other customers may also purchase and use the same design. If you need exclusive use of a design (so no one else can purchase or use it), get in touch before you purchase and we can discuss terms.
Attribution: Attribution isn’t required, but we always appreciate a mention or tag if you’re sharing your finished products online — it helps a small, hand-drawn business like ours!
Questions: If you’re not sure whether your intended use is covered by this licence, contact us before purchasing on the contact page — we’re always happy to clarify.
